mortified

The nausea, unbelievably, is worse this morning than it's ever been. I have been trying to nibble on saltines and sip gingerale in the hopes that my stomach will settle down before I teach. And yet this image of me upchucking midsentence in front of the entire class keeps passing through my head. How mortifying would that be? Extremely.

Oh, no! I hope you made it through the day ok. Something that's been helping me when I think I'm about to throw up has been minty gum or a hard candy. Doesn't work all the time, but sometimes...

Nothing wrong with vomiting in front of people. I've done it many times. Just be sure to always carry a plastic bag with you so that you can contain the mess.

Seriously, I have vomited in front of students and they were not horrified. They were sympathetic.

Sipping orange gatorade worked for me. Supposedly half a unisom and B12 taken at bedtime work, though I never tried it.

Morning (or even all day) sickness are signs of a healthy pregnancy though. I was always comforted a tiny bit by that.

I sympathize. I'm one week ahead of you and after nine blissful nausea-free weeks, I've now been constantly queasy for the past 65 hours (yes, I am counting).

I have found minty tea to be useful, not only for sipping, but for taking big whiffs when smells get to me. (Why do all my students reek of cigarettes???)

Been there, done that. I just wanted to curl up in a little ball at the front of the classroom. Pretzels worked pretty well for me. Hubby bought me a jumbo-sized container from Costco. After those first three months of pregnancy, I never wanted to see a pretzel again.

Other people swear by ginger candy. You might try that.

I was addicted to fruit popsicles for the first four months of pregnancy- only thing I could manage to keep down. Starchy things are supposed to help curb m/s as well. I've also heard something about "preggie pops" sold at baby stores, but I've no idea if they're at all effective. Sorry to hear you're suffering. :(
